Adriana is a much loved and highly respected Obstetrician;
who’s also the only Maternal Fetal Medicine Specialist offering uninterrupted care for women and their babies on the Gold Coast.
Where it all began
As a founding director of both Grace Private and
Haven Ultrasound, her journey in obstetrics began during her time as a medical student at The University of Queensland.
It was there, in the midst of assisting with an emergency caesarean, that she realised the enormous privilege of being there for women during such pivotal moments in their lives.
“I still remember the first birth I saw…….I played a very small part in that birth but remember leaving in the morning, not with the heaviness and fatigue of a long night, but seeming to float on air. I realised then, that this was what I wanted to do above all else.”
Her early years as a junior doctor at The Mater Mothers Hospital laid the foundation for her career, which later led her to Sydney's esteemed Royal Hospital for Women. It was here that she was exposed to complex pregnancy care and obstetric ultrasound, sparking her passion and sowing the seed for her career in maternal fetal medicine.
Life & Work Today
Today, as an Advanced Fetal Medicine Specialist, Adriana specialises in providing expert care for high-risk or complex pregnancies. She offers ultrasound diagnosis, fetal therapy, and genetic counselling for women with complex medical or genetic conditions. Adriana is there to support women on their own unique path to parenthood. From prenatal, pregnancy monitoring, birth planning and postnatal care, Adriana’s expertise and knowledge is highly sought after, not just by her patients, but by colleagues in the medical field too.
Adriana provides excellent and contemporary care alongside a multi-disciplinary team. This includes midwives, physicians, nurses and her ever busy executive assistant, Adriana loves seeing a plan pull together, to ensure the best outcomes for each woman.
Adriana finds absolute joy in supporting women and their families, and enjoys the balance between managing complex high-risk pregnancies and caring for women with low-risk pregnancies too. In awe of the strength of women, Adriana feels blessed every day when women choose to partner with her on their journey to parenthood.
Helping women to build their families, whilst still spending time with her own family, including her husband and daughter, is key to Adriana’s success. When she manages to step away from work, Adriana enjoys travelling and relaxing on a beach with a great book or loves to hit the shops with her teenage daughter for makeup and skincare!
